Stuff got real on Friday, when Mark Carney took the oaths of office to become Canada’s 24th prime minister. It’ll get realer when the rest of us get a say, via our votes in a federal election. The campaign might begin within days. Time to get The Panel together to analyze the pageantry and posturing of yet another busy week.
But before we begin, Garry Keller has some surprising news for his fellow Panellists, who (unlike me — he tipped me off on a phone call shortly before we recorded) had no previous knowledge of an exciting project he’s taking on. I love a surprise.
Elections are as real as it gets for hundreds of candidates, campaign volunteers and their families. Spare them a thought and some goodwill, as Canada gears up for some democracy.
