Yes the debate were boring. The language thing, bilingualism is not that important to me now given how grave the situation is currently. After what has happened to Zelensky at the WH today, I am asking myself who of the candidates would be though and punch back at what Trump is throwing at us. Given that Trump thinks very little of Canada. It will not be just tariffs it will be much more, demolishing Canada everyday. I am hoping for a miracle. Who can deliver? Carney is my best hope. We also need to rebuild our links with Europe and the world. Forget about the USA. Stop the, oh we have to talks to Congress and Senate, they are not listening and have NO influence with the Mafia in the WH.
Agree with all of this except the last part. We have to remember that we have many many friends and allies in the US and that they are just as repulsed at what they’re seeing in the WH.
Good session Paul. Only you should have told Garry to close his cake hole to give Allison a chance to speak. ( I like Garry but?).
In regard to that episode at the White House yesterday, if the people of the United States do not react to that schoolyard bullying of a real hero we are lost. I don't have a problem with the US castigating the rest of the world for not carrying their share of the load but not the way those two clowns treated the Ukraine.
Old news...but Paul you ask everyone else for an opinions....what to see less of others and more of your opinions. I can go to their Substack or BlueSky
The best thing about this discussion panel was the agreement about the recent polling, which suggests that the "Carney effect" (the "hail Mary pass", the "Messiah effect") won't last. IF the Liberals want to win, they have to be a LOT more eager to throw Trudeau under the bus and offer serious change to Canadians.
I still think that Poilievre is vulnerable because of the albatross around his neck (his refusal to disavow his willingness to cavort with the insurrectionists of February 2022, which is what some people mean when they call him and his the "mini-MAGA" bunch).
Still, if the debates we saw were any indication, the Liberals are just not serious about winning the next election.
Until Americans wake up, the whole world is in a very bad place with Trump. Meantime a strong world leader has to show up and face-off with the insanity being
Trump will be sucking up all the oxygen for some time, but resistance is coming in the US so max Trump probably has a shorter shelf life than one would expect. The Liberals would be well served to call an immediate election after picking their leader.

Fair comment. This was a rare and frustrating week. I had a big writing project. Will try to get back to writing for all of you.

Thrown at us.

Rarely are political podcasts enjoyable. This one was because it was intelligent and void of Trump draw- mah in the rubber room Oval Office.
