If the interview had happened, I'd have asked these questions
This post alone is worth the subscription
Been waiting for your first article where you really unload on someone. Delighted it’s Polievre.
Mr Polievre’s falsehoods are filling the media and no one is calling him on them. Except you. Brilliantly. Thanks
Your clear and direct approach is exactly what Canadian journalism usually lacks. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Brilliant, Paul. It has been a long time since I've read so effective a dismantling of a political figure so full of himself it oozes out his pores. Well done!
It looks like this guy has nailed the Trump model. (1) Vilify all public institutions, including the Media, (2) be shameless and when challenged double down, (3) Never engage in reasoned debate, (4) Present "trust in the leader" as the only solution. You know what comes next (reject democratic outcomes).
Ooooh, you are seriously poking some Personality Cult Post-Truth Irrational Post-Libertarian Fascism here. You are almost certainly on his To Be Fired List.
I told my son, “ nothing for Mother’s Day” but bless him, he gave me this subscription. Oh my, you give a whole new meaning to a gift that keeps on giving! This post alone just took care of Christmas and my birthday!
Smarmy doesn't even begin to describe Skippy. Canada would do well to avoid this snollygoster and throttlebottom.
I don't always agree with you (I do on this one!), maybe about half the time I disagree at least on some points, but subscribing is part of my strategy to avoid bubble living!
Nicely done. Cruel but fair.
It’s too bad most Canadians are too cheap/ignorant/other to seek out your work.
Loved every word of this.
I agree with David. Here in Ottawa it was my first (and second) laugh of my day. Thanks so much for doing this.
I hope you had as much fun writing this as I had reading it. Excellent piece.
Very glad to read this as a paying subscriber - will do my part in sharing it around. All the questions being posed are valid and the inferred answers cannot hold up to the questions. Those who might be persuaded by this article are the very ones who will not read it. Pity; superb writing Paul. Hopefully, someone - whether you or any other solid journalist - will press these questions at any media event with Poilievre.
Excellent questions. I doubt you’ll hear from Pierre. He wouldn’t know how to answer.
