Paul, what a nice surprise to read about music and your description of the concerts you attended. I remember years ago when I was a guide at the National Gallery in Ottawa seeing you visiting the gallery. I remember thinking how interesting not just a journalist but also someone who is interested in the arts. I have been reading your work for years and always liked it. In this day an age I choose who I read carefully to see how they present a story and if they stick to the facts. I am happy to subscribe to your journal.
Paul. You should consider a completely separate substack on music reviews. Live and recorded. All genres. I’d be the first of many to subscribe. This was a wonderful read. Cheers. Rob
Paul [again, overly familiar!], I subscribed because I knew your political commentary and that very much made me interested in your current endeavor. At the time of subscription you very clearly noted that you intended to provide, yes, that political commentary but also that musical and other commentary was important and would be included as part of the package.
I very clearly accepted your terms and remain happy that I did so.
In my case, I am "hearing impaired" [what a silly euphemism! They tell me that the next step in my hearing is "profound"]. That means that I cannot appreciate the music in a live format or when you include it with your missives but it very much does not mean that I want you to stop with the music, etc. Please do keep forwarding this information, nay, wonderful content on music and other topics. But, of course, I do like [too mild?] the political content, too.
Love you mixing it up with this excellent review. Bookmarking the Virée as an experience to enjoy with our boys.
My suggestion:
Virée classique OSM À la carte
