I've fixed a bunch of small typos and brain glitches throughout. Writing this took three days, based on notes and recordings from a month ago, and I wish I could catch mistakes before I hit Publish but at least I catch most of them soon after.

Hi Paul, I believe my subscription expires soon. Please cancel it now. I receive too many emails and can't keep up. Thanks. Sharon Lott

You're much more proficient at correcting typos than the majority of writers, both in mainstream media and on Substack!

Thanks. I really appreciate your arts and culture coverage. There are so few serious feature pieces anywhere. Chris Abraham and Crow's are terrific and so are Michael Healey and Tom Rooney.

Oh my, I wish I could be in Toronto to see it. I have been on a local theatre board for 10 years in West Vancouver. I have witnessed the almost demise of live theatre here. We can only afford to run a few plays; instead relying on all sort of great music to survive.

Last year, We bought two filmed plays from London's National Theatre: Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch; and Prima Facie with Jody Comer. But would love to see more original Canadian theatre...maybe they could film Rogers vs Rogers and offer it to theatres that have adequate technology to show films. The theme would certainly resonate with us here as we constantly fight with and complain constantly about Telus and Rogers, their lousy customer service and expensive pricing!!

Thank you for this - great piece. Another play I may never get to see. But who knows, maybe it will make it to Van?

The Crow's production of a new play based on André Alexis' novel 15 Dogs just played in Ottawa, and even I didn't realize it until it was too late. There's always cool stuff going on.

On the topic of "competition", I enjoyed a long battle with Telus; phone calls every 6 moths, and succeeded in halving my internet, TV, pnone bill, holding it down for two years. Then, that changes and the bill increased 110%. My 'weapons' were a paper tiger and their response was total indifference. The cost hurts but the experience touched a deeper place.

I hope the play migrates to the West Coast..

Delighted to hear of a play whose hero is a senior civil servant!

The Masterplan was magnificent. I was intrigued by the idea of the new play. Your piece clinched it… just bought the tix.

When do we see this in Ottawa or are the political theatrics here already stranger than any fiction on stage?

Your article is fascinating. I wish this play the best of success!

For some reason this isn’t appearing in my feed. Saw reference to it elsewhere and came via Paul’s author page. Now I have to see if I can get tickets.
