Fingers crossed that, in the months and years ahead, a few of us can move past "What my guy just did was a stroke of genius, shame on anyone for questioning it" as an analytical tool.
Yeah, if you are referring to the "Carney is playing hard to get with Trump" narrative, then people need to explore the alternative that perhaps Trump is ghosting Carney and by not taking Carney's calls Trump is taking the elbows up approach and there isn't a damn thing Carney can do about it except wait for the phone to ring.
Allison is bang on…Carney has been working hard to drive trade elsewhere and waiting for Trump to call is a distraction …and the press was asking a stupid question which he gave the answer it deserved
I agree with Gary, if Poilievre was as flippant with a reporter he would be crucified by the media but Carney gets a pass. It's also interesting that Carney got elected because of his "elbows up" rhetoric but the Liberals and their supporters can't stand that Poilievre has his elbows up to them, another double standard.
I watched the clip. I don't know how it was edited but Carney didn't come across as flippant to me. He came across as exasperated that a reporter was repeatedly asking the same question.
Enjoyed the panel discussion and balance on the issues. It appears that the country is, more or less, in a state of wait and see. Big things were promised and so far only PM Carney appears to be the most busy person of the entire team. There is no doubt he is a hard worker but also no doubt the government is in need of reform and no word, that I have seen on serious program review other than offering emplyees golden handshakes.
I believe the PM is right who cares about Trump and his gang. We can still do business with US Corporations but keep a good distance from Trump the Russian asset. It is more than time that we divorce ourselves once and for all from the USA. Their condescending arrogant attitude should no longer be tolerated. Carney is doing all the right thing and if the media in CDA like the Postmedia gang does not like it too bad. At any rate they support Trump and the CPC. As of Outhouse what an odd name, maybe he will be able to convince Pierre that is time to say goodbye.
At the risk of upsetting your narrative, it wasn’t Pierre Poilievre who said “The United States of America has pushed NATO forward. All members now acknowledge that. All 31 other members have acknowledged it. It was a good thing to do, and it helped push Canada forward.”

There is nothing Carney can say or do that his voter base won't defend to the detriment of the whole country.
It will be interesting to see IF Steve Outhouse makes any headway in Changing Pierre P.

It was Defence Minister David McGuinty. 🤷♂️
That’s not what I said. I am simply hoping that Mr. PP will leave as quickly as possible without a fuss.
