The absolute salt of the earth.

One of the problems with a cult of personality is that eventually you realize you’re stuck with the personality.

Everyone has quirks. We are being reminded of two of Justin Trudeau’s. One: just about anyone can work with him on daily files, but only a few people have ever had his trust. Two: though he can be transactional on any number of issues, his thinking on a few files is gummed up by unconfronted inner conflicts. As eccentricities go, these two are ordinary. Together they’ve become central to this latest strange turmoil.
