"This guy was homeless. He has mental health issues in and out of jail.
And it was just a complete mess. There was not enough service to help him."
In fact, the forensic psychiatrist testified at the murder trial that the perpetrator was not mentally ill, but was "probably a psychopath". At the time of the stabbing he had 18 prior convictions for assault, including assault with a weapon and sexual assault, and over 100 other convictions. He was on probation, and had outstanding warrants.
None of his multiple previous convictions resulted in a custodial sentence of more than 30 days or so. Most were dealt with by probation, even when he was already on probation at the time of offending, and despite an extensive record of failure to comply.
Toronto is a place most people who live outside of it avoid like the plague. It is an unholy mess to try and get around in, parking is prohibitive and public transit is one of Dante's circles of Hell. Chow has completely abandoned the Jewish community and let Hamas influenced thugs run wild. She has been an unmitigated disaster, and everybody north of Highway 7 would like to see a wall built.
Biking may not be “wholly” satisfactory for us Torontonians, but it surely works. (Even when some alienated person steals your lights when you go to a birthday party in Parkdale.) I get around, round round …
